NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Blues Music Society of Oklahoma (dba Blues Society of Oklahoma) invites all members to attend our 2026 Annual General Membership Meeting. This important annual gathering is your opportunity to learn about the Society’s progress, help shape our future, and participate in decisions that will guide our organization in the coming year.
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating blues music, we believe our greatest strength comes from the involvement of our members, musicians, volunteers, and supporters.

What’s on the Agenda?
In accordance with the Society’s bylaws, the Annual General Membership Meeting will include:
- 2026 Year in Review: A look at our accomplishments, events, membership growth, and community involvement.
- Financial Report and 2027 Budget: A review of the Society’s financial position and presentation of the proposed annual budget.
- Election of Officers: Nominations and elections for leadership positions on the Board of Directors.
- Bylaw Review: Discussion and consideration of proposed changes to the Society’s bylaws. Review the proposed changes HERE
- Looking Ahead to 2027: Plans for upcoming blues events, educational initiatives, fundraising, and opportunities to strengthen Oklahoma’s blues community.
- Member Questions and Discussion: An opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and become more involved.

Whether you’ve been supporting Oklahoma blues for decades or recently joined the Society, your participation makes a difference.
Our mission extends beyond putting great musicians on stage. We’re working to preserve Oklahoma’s blues heritage, support local musicians, introduce new generations to the music, and build a stronger blues community.
The blues brought us together. Your involvement keeps us moving forward.
We encourage all members to attend, participate in the discussion, and help shape the next chapter of the Blues Society of Oklahoma.

BLUES FANS SHOWED UP!!
Wow, what a day! A huge THANK YOU to every blues fan who came out and made the 2026 Dust Bowl Blues Bash an unforgettable celebration of live music. From the first note to the final encore, more than 1,000 blues lovers filled the venue with energy, enthusiasm, and a shared love for the blues.
Your support of the bands, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and the Blues Society of Oklahoma helped make this year’s event our biggest and best yet. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Mark your calendars now and start making plans, because the Dust Bowl Blues Bash will return in 2027. We can’t wait to do it all again. Until then, keep the blues alive and we’ll see you at the next Sunday Blues Jam!

Because of your commitment to the Blues Society of Oklahoma, we raised $2,700 at our WinterFest Fundraiser! This will go along way towards fulfilling out goal to support this year’s Dust Bowl Blues Bash, music scholarships, and our Blues In The Schools program!

Not too get to existential on you, but “why are we here?”
Well, it’s simple. There was an unfulfilled need for a
Blues Society, and we’re trying to fix that.
Our main goal is to elevate your musical blues journey through a deeper appreciation of the music we love. Of course we’re talking about the blues.
Monthly Meetings & Blues Jams
Join us for our monthly blues jams. All levels of musicianship are welcome! EVERYONE get’s a chance to hop up on stage for at least 3 songs. The only requirement is that anything that you play MUST be the blues.
Connect with the Community
Don’t miss our monthly gatherings, workshops, and open mic nights to share your passion. It’s also your chance to discover new talent, network with other blues fans, and blue musicians.
The Blues Society of Oklahoma has a number of initiatives that are part of it’s charter.
- Provide a location and environment for blues fans and musicians to enjoy the music.
- Provide opportunities for monthly or bi-weekly blues jams, education session, workshop, etc. These are open to ALL blues musicians for all experience and abilities.
- Provide an education resource and outreach in the schools. Blues musicians are dying out and its important to foster and nurture the next generation.
- Create opportunities to let the healing properties of music help our veteran’s community.
- Partner with surrounding area blues societies and blues festivals.
- Host an OKC Blues Challenge.
